ICON ZAR DE MALLORCA: WHERE ART, LEGACY, AND LUXURY COLLIDE

Once considered a quiet corner of Palma, Cala Major and Calanova Port have transformed into a vibrant cultural destination, thanks to the visionary presence of Icon Zar de Mallorca—a Mediterranean artist, collector, and creative powerhouse redefining the island’s contemporary art scene.

Since opening her art studio in 2021, Icon Zar has become one of the Top 40 Artists in Mallorca, as featured in the prestigious book Great Artists in Mallorca. She was among the first to plant cultural roots in a neighbourhood previously seen as dormant—and in doing so, she turned it into a thriving artistic enclave.

Her work is deeply conceptual, exploring themes like luxury addictions, ecological consciousness, and Millennial identity, blending sarcasm, symbolism, and storytelling into bold, thought-provoking pieces. Her signature themes—such as “Trashformation”—challenge societal norms through elegant yet rebellious artistic forms.

A New Kind of Art Experience

With a mission to make art more experiential and inclusive, Icon Zar launched the “Open Doors” event series at her studio, merging contemporary art with artisan markets, DJ performances, business networking, and charity fundraising. Her Icon Zar Art Agency represents an elite new wave of Millennial artists including Markuc Junkal, Nacho Sanchez, and Christian Pankoff, as well as renowned DJs like Nana, E(M), and DJ Camembert. She also collaborates with Michel McCain, international singer and business coach.

Her main sponsor, APP Projects, supports this unique cultural movement, and Icon Zar actively welcomes new sponsors and collaborators who share her vision.

Fine Dining with a Hungry Artist™ – A Cinematic Concept

Icon Zar also pioneered the experiential concept “Fine Dining with a Hungry Artist™”, blending haute cuisine, storytelling, and art commissions in exclusive settings. In one unforgettable event at Lío Mallorca, she dined with a Norwegian millionaire who later commissioned a large portrait of his father, Steinar Olaisen, the legendary “Salmon King” of Norway.

In a tragic turn, Håkon Olaisen, his son, passed away on May 1st in a car crash in Poland, shortly after selling his business shares for €750 million. His father’s portrait remained in Icon Zar’s studio—until she was invited to exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Andratx (CCA) during the Grand Night Fasion, Art, alongside international artists like Jonny Hurts, Groove Gallery, Roti, and Andreas Belzek.

In the presence of the Mayor of Andratx, she chose to dedicate her exhibition to Steinar and Håkon Olaisen, honouring their legacy as influential figures in Norway and great supporters of the arts.

Next: A Netflix-Style TV Series

After the overwhelming success of her exhibition, Icon Zar is now preparing to pitch a pilot for a Netflix-style dock-series, based on her Fine Dining with a Hungry Artist™ concept. She is currently in conversation with angel investors and has already received interest from a German film production company.

Each episode will merge gastronomy, art, and human stories in unforgettable locations across the Mediterranean.

A Collector of Icons

Beyond her own creations, Icon Zar also owns a remarkable private collection of rare and historic pieces, including:

A portrait of Hollywood actor Tony Curtis

Artworks from Roberto Escobar (brother of Pablo Escobar)

Works by Hans Misera and Michel Sanchez Romera (Michelin-starred chefs)

A signed book by Mikhail Gorbachev

An original fragment of the Berlin Wall
