The Olaisen Art Prize

Honouring Legacy. Bridging Cultures. Inspiring Generations.

The Olaisen Art Prize was created in memory of Steinar and Håkon Olaisen — pioneering figures in the Norwegian salmon farming industry. Steinar Olaisen’s legacy shaped an entire industry and became a symbol of innovation and resilience for the Norwegian people.

This year 2025, tragedy struck — Håkon Olaisen passed away in a car crash before he could collect the portrait of his legendary father, a symbolic artwork meant to hang in the building of their family company in Norway, as a tribute to their contribution to the nation.

In their memory, I have created this art award and cultural record to keep their legacy alive — not only through storytelling, but through art that transcends borders.

Purpose of the Prize:

To honor the legacy of Steinar and Håkon Olaisen.

🧵 "Håkon’s To-Do List" –

The Denim Legacy Record

A collaborative tribute to a life of vision, joy, and connection.

This unique art project was born from a deeply personal and touching moment — a simple drawing made by Håkon Olaisen shortly before his passing. On a small piece of paper titled “Håkon’s To-Do List,” he sketched his dreams for the Mindvalley Festival in Ibiza — symbols of joy and freedom like a star, a fish, and dance.

In honor of his spirit, I transformed this note into a living record of artistic tribute.

Concept:

I invited international artists to contribute by creating small-sized artworks on denim, inspired by Håkon’s own words and symbols. Each piece becomes a reflection of his wishes, his light, and the universality of human hope.

🎨 Sizes include:
🔹 10x10 cm
🔹 20x20 cm
🔹 30x30 cm
🔹 40x40 cm

These artworks will be stitched together into a single, large-scale art curtain — a powerful, textured mosaic of dreams, memories, and international unity.

Purpose:

This record will build a cultural bridge between the Nordic countries and the Mediterranean lifestyle, uniting two distinct worlds through the universal language of art.

It will also give a voice to emerging Nordic artists — especially those who live in remote areas or face limited opportunities to express themselves on an international stage. This project will be their platform, their microphone, their curtain call.

Debut:

🗓️ The final piece will be unveiled at (...) Mallorca in 2026, becoming part of the broader Olaisen Art Prize Legacy Project — a reminder that even the smallest gestures can inspire global creativity.

Let´s created "The Biggest Art Curtain in the World" by 30x12 meters in 2026.

It was applied for Guinness Book of record by 08.08.2025
